Officer Candidate, Combat Engineers
Artillery School Idar-Oberstein. Three injuries ended the career.
Catholic Theology
When I left the military, theology was the only programme still open at Tübingen. It appealed to me personally. Moral philosophy, history, Latin, Hebrew, Greek. Reading four languages with four different writing systems made switching between Python, SQL and JavaScript easier later on. Today I am an atheist.
TV Reporter & Freelance Journalist
Starting in 2013 I wrote for the Deutsche Rundschau alongside my studies. After graduating in 2016 I worked as a freelance journalist: research for SWR documentaries — Im Land der Täter (2019) and Der Südwesten in Farbe — Amateurfilme von 1936–1944 (2019). Plus reporting for Allgäu TV and other broadcasters. In 2018 I joined the SWR Tübingen bureau as a TV reporter.
Voiceblitz (Founder)
In 2019 the SWR director announced budget cuts. I knew I had to build new skills. So: Alexa, NLP, voice control. At the Medienberghack in Mainz our concept for a voice-controlled audio drama won first place. That became Voiceblitz: three and a half years of startup life, a 140,000 euro EXIST founder's grant, an SWR TV feature on the app in action, two hackathon wins. I taught myself programming and got into AI.
Voiceblitz ended when a third-party patent blocked further development. The lead developer left, we shut the project down. A shame.
Product Manager & SQL Development
Started on the helpdesk, then moved into the product manager role. I managed a sales platform with webshop, iOS app and Windows client, plus a web portal with order dashboard, data import/export and a customer CMS. SQL database maintenance was part of the job, along with programming a SalesImpact indicator that identified high-revenue products. Three and a half years of client projects.
Product Manager, AI Due Diligence
AI-powered due diligence tool, go-to-market review, me as product manager. The connection came through the Defense Hackathon at TU Munich.
